17th May IDAHOBIT week

17th May is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. On this global day, as LGBTQI+s, we stand against any targeting of our marginalised identities based on gender identity, sexual orientation, class, and other forms of discrimination.

On the occasion of this global event, we are proud to draw attention to the necessity of more legal and political reforms in Azerbaijan to ensure justice and protection under the motto of “Justice and Protection for All.” Our movement, which has been strengthening our protection since 2012, will also pledge their commitment on May 17th this year.

We have planned several activities for the week of May 11-17. Throughout the week, we will be publishing podcasts related to LGBTQI+ rights issues and labour rights that have been prepared with the help of our volunteers. We will also have an open discussion during the week and at the end of the week, on May 17th, we will present a film and hold a discussion about police brutality faced by LGBTQI+s in Azerbaijan.
